This website is designed to educate you about what school service workers see everyday in the public schools.

Food service workers and janitors want to provide quality services in our schools, but many are struggling to provide for their own children on as little as minimum wage. Most don’t have access to affordable health insurance for themselves or their families.

These school service workers are joining together with their co-workers to achieve a dignified living for their families, to have the freedom to speak out without fear of reprisal if they see contractors cutting corners, and to serve the children of our community by providing a clean and healthy environment for learning.

SEIU Local 1 is supporting these workers in thier effort to improve their standard of living and improve the quality of services they are able to provide our schools and our kids.
